Apprenticeships are a cost-effective, high quality way to attract and retain talent within your organisation. Damar works with employers across the legal and justice sectors, including firms of solicitors, in-house legal teams, barristers’ chambers and not-for-profit legal advice agencies. Although most apprentices work in legal administrative, paralegal and fee-earner support roles, apprenticeships are also available for a range of support functions, such as accounts, HR and marketing. Existing as well as new staff can become apprentices.
Legal apprenticeships - the different routes
There are several legal apprenticeship pathways - we can advise on which is the best fit for an individual and for the employer. We can support apprentices in the following roles:
- Legal administrator
- Chartered Legal Executive
- Conveyancing Technician/Licensed Conveyancer
- Solicitor (in partnership with the University of Law)
Students can also study with Damar to become a conveyancing technician or licensed conveyancer outside an apprenticeship.
Progression from one level of legal apprenticeship to another is possible and so it is possible to create a career structure that begins at entry level and leads all the way to qualification as a solicitor, licensed conveyancer or Chartered Legal Executive.
